| PanLok provides a GUI to the publisher that enables them to ‘wrap’ their software content using CodeLok. This program automatically produces a ‘pack’ of content that is provided to the CD replicator to enable manufacture of the stamper. The replicator is provided with key file software for their laser beam recorders and QA software for product testing. Enables IPR owners to lock up large quantities of CD-ROMs for secure commercial release. The client then loads the software onto their computer in the normal way. To run that software the client places the disc into their CD-ROM drive and the program will then run when it finds the watermarks on the disc are recognised by the ‘wrapped’ software. Therefore, while the software can be copied it cannot be run by the client or pirate organisations unless they have the original disc. The original disc cannot be accurately duplicated by pirates due to the unique watermarks created by the key file software running on the laser beam recorder encoder software at the CD ROM replicator.
